You’re about to discover a simple strategy for generating hundreds or even thousands of targeted visitors to your website, by making one small change to your content. It’s fast and simple to do, and if you do it right, will have a profound effect on your profits. The sad thing is that most website owners either don’t understand the importance of using this technique, or they do it the wrong way and get penalized.

Here’s what it’s all about…

On every website you own, you need be sure you’ve correctly optimized your images for Image Search. If you take a few minutes with each page and optimize every graphic correctly, you’ll quickly start to get found by people searching through the Google and Yahoo image directories. Here are the 3 steps you need to take to get maximum benefit from every image on your website.

Step 1 - Whenever you name images for your website or blog, make sure you use a keyword that closely relates to what the image is actually about. Then always add a keyword-rich Alt tag to each graphic to double it’s chances of getting found. Then whenever possible, add as many keyword optimized Graphics to your site’s pages as you can to bring in organic search traffic from Google and Yahoo Images.

For example, an image of people on a Beach in Puerto Rico might be called puerto-rico-beach-party.jpg, and your Alt tag might say Puerto Rico Beach Party. It’s important that you don’t try to fool the Search Engines by calling an image something unrelated; you could be penalized for it.

Step 2 - It’s important to make sure the pages containing your Images are optimized correctly for the same or similar keywords. In the eyes of Google and Yahoo, this will help to keep your site congruent. In the example above, the file name for the page containing the Puerto Rico Beach Party image would be called puerto-rico-beach.html or something close to that. It should at least have Puerto Rico and Beach in the file name, the Title Tag and Description if you can work it in there.

Keep adding more content and optimized images to your website and your organic search engine traffic will continue to grow over time. This technique is very effective because most people don’t understand the importance of it, or don’t know exactly what to do. You will have an unfair advantage over other websites in your market and your traffic should receive a significant boost over the weeks and months ahead.

Step 3 - This is important. Do NOT name images of Guarantees, Order Buttons or other ancillary Graphics by what they are - use numbers instead. Google in particular looks at the total number of images on your page and decides how relevant each image is to the content. If you have 4 images, with 2 of them related to a beach in Puerto Rico, and 2 that are called order.jpg and guarantee.jpg, your page’s images will only be 50% relevant to the rest of the page content. Having all of your images relevant is very important, so this is bad.

If your Order and Guarantee Graphics are called numbers such as 0098.jpg and 0099.jpg instead, Google seems to disregard them, and your page images will be seen as 100% relevant and on topic, giving you additional love from the Search Engines, and potentially increasing your rankings, traffic and profits.
