It is finally time to really start bringing people back into the store once again. You experienced a horrible winter and dreary spring but you took the opportunity over the lull to splash some new paint on the walls, get some new lights and replace the fixtures all along the main aisle. Now the store is looking like a million bucks, and the summer inventory has arrived. You’re planning a big summer sale in a few of weeks; it’s just a matter of marketing it properly. You have some bag stuffers already printed out and you are preparing an ad in the local circulars. What you really want are a couple of custom banners for outside the store, one advertising that the upcoming sale and another that it is taking place. The catch is you have never really done any banner design before. Don’t worry. It doesn’t have to be complicated. Here are a few simple things to keep in mind. ## First, know where you’re going to hang your banner. Decide where the banner is going to go. This will tell you how much space you have to work with. It’ll also tell you who’s likely to see it; are they likely to be largely your own customers, walk by traffic, or drive by traffic? Also if you have never placed a banner there before, you’re going to need to be certain of all the sign bylaws. If you cannot find a good placement on the side of the building perhaps you should look into custom banner stands. ## Know what it is you hope to express. The trick with a banner, even if it’s a big banner, is that the message should be brief, clear and precise. People should know who the banner is for (if it is not obvious by the placement) what it is promoting, and no more than a couple of relevant pieces of information. In your case the date of the sale and the type of discounts. ## Make sure it is as bold as possible. Based on location you need to make sure the text is big and visible. If most of the eyes scanning yourbanner are doing so from across a parking lot or from the street you need to make sure that the text can be read from that far away. Know too that color is going to play a big part in visibility. If you decideto use color text on a color background make sure that they contrast. Blueish-green letters on a greenish-blue background won’t make much of an impact. Be aware that dark text on a light background is generally more visible than light text on a dark background. ## Make sure it is legible. Even an awesome banner - one that’s the right size, in a great location, with bold well-chosen colors, is going to be for naught if the text is not incredibly legible. You want a short message, written large, and in an extremely legible font or typeface. If the font is too curly or gimicky, you’re likely to hurt the impact of your banner. People’s eyes are naturally attracted to the written word. The more legible the text the less of the eye you need to snare. There’s absolutely no reason you cannot go to your local print shop, or even an online print shop for that matter, and purchase a couple of appealing outdoor vinyl banners that will draw customers in toyour summer sale. In fact some of the better online print shops these days will even allow you todesign and style your banners right on their site. Give it a try, you may find that you are better at it than you thought. No matter whether you need outdoor banners or banner stands, you will find them at Allstatebanners.com. Limo Driver Scores Big With Banner Signage

Flying home from a long vacation or a demanding business trip is tough. Airports bring out the worst in people, as long lines, cramped quarters and hours of waiting around take their toll on even the most patient people. As a limo driver in New York City, I’ve spent my fair share of time at two of the country’s busiest airports and have heard countless horror stories from even the most seasoned travelers about temper tantrums and mental breakdowns. When I first started in the limo business, my initial inclination was to laugh at these people’s inability to control their emotions. Most weary travelers, however, do not appreciate being patronized by a limo driver, so I learned quickly that if my business was going to survive, I would have to find a way to ease my clients’ minds after a long day in the air. I started paying attention to the faces of strangers I saw in the airport and studied the different emotions around me. The faces I saw usually showed a mixture between annoyance and indifference, but my favorites were those whose faces displayed feelings of elation and euphoria. I commonly saw these happy faces on family members, old friends or young lovers who were reuniting after, I assume, long periods of time spent away from each other. To build my business, I began to greet my clients at the airport as if I were greeting old friends. I welcomed my clients to New York with newspapers, toys and warm snacks. Lucky for me, my research paid off and my company is now the most profitable limo service in the entire Northeastern United States. I want to share my success with you, so keep reading to learn three wonderful ways to greet your special someone at the airport. OLD FAITHFUL: FLOWERS, CANDY AND CARD Though it may sound boring, I’ve never once seen the traditional route backfire on a guy. In fact, I often noticed that the arriving traveler was happy to receive anything at all. Just because you lack creativity doesn’t mean you can’t be thoughtful. The best part about this gift is that it doesn’t require a lot of money or effort but still makes a huge impression on that special someone. CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES, COME ON! For those who enjoy making a scene and getting attention, buy some balloons with crazy colors and wacky artwork. You can even personalize your balloons with little sayings to make your greeting that much more special. Believe me, you will be a hit if you greet your special someone with a bunch of balloons. THE ULTIMATE: BRING A CUSTOM BANNER My personal favorite method of airport greeting is with a custom banner. Custom banners require a bit more preparation on your part, but as long as you go to your local print banner maker and explain to him what you want, he will easily be able to craft you a high quality print banner in a very short amount of time. The best part about a custom banner is that it can be personalized, so you can include any message you want on your custom banner. Also, unlike flowers or balloons, a custom banner is easy to take care of and can last forever. I designed a custom banner for my son when he came home from a year in Europe, and that custom banner is still hanging in his room to this day! I hope that you will take my recommendations to heart and try one of them out the next time you are greeting a loved one at the airport. While balloons and flowers are great, just remember that you will make the biggest statement with a print banner! Would you like to know how you can create your very own vinyl banner? Vinyl banners are only a click away, so check out our website today! |

Stake Your Claim With A Print Banner

My company’s office is housed in a building that also houses several other offices. I love the convenient location and spacious parking lot that my office provides to me and my clients. Not only that, but my rent is also extremely reasonable. Having low rent keeps my operating costs low which makes my business more profitable! The only problem I have with my situation is that my landlord won’t let me put a permanent sign outside the building. This problem was only temporary, however, as my landlord and I were able to resolve our disagreement. THERE IS NO PROBLEM THAT CANNOT BE SOLVED After a bit of research on signs and other ways of advertising my location without making any permanent additions to the exterior of my building, I decided that installing a vinyl banner above the door to my office was the best possible solution to my dilemma. My landlord was very supportive of my proposal, as I explained to him that the vinyl banner would make a minimal impact on the exterior of the building and could easily be removed should I ever move my office. I ordered a beautiful custom banner from a local banner maker and nailed the vinyl banner above my office door for all to see. SOMETIMES SOLUTIONS BRING ON MORE PROBLEMS At first, the vinyl banner looked great above my office door. Unfortunately, my satisfaction was soon replaced by disappointment, as a strong windstorm came through town about a week later and ripped the nails holding my vinyl banner clear out of their holes allowing my custom banner to fly away. I was lucky to find my vinyl banner in a tree down the street from my office with only minimal damage, but I was still upset that I now faced a whole new set of problems relating to my ability to mark the location of my office. The worst of the damage to the actual banner was that the holes where the nails had pierced the vinyl banner had ripped from the wind pressure, thus affecting the beauty of my custom banner. AGAIN, FOR EVERY PROBLEM THERE IS A SOLUTION I went back to my local custom banner maker and explained to him the problems I was having with the installation of my vinyl banner. Luckily, being the expert that he is, the custom banner maker provided me with two useful tips on how to prevent a vinyl banner from flying away. GET YOURSELF MORE THAN JUST A COUPLE OF GROMMETS! A grommet is a metal or brass eyelet that encases a hole in a vinyl banner so that the weight of the banner does not cause the vinyl to tear when the custom banner is displayed or hung from an elevated area. The vinyl banner maker said he would be happy to install a few extra grommets in my custom banner to distribute the weight of the banner across several grommets instead of only a few. The more grommets there are on a vinyl banner, the less weight each hole is forced to support. Ever heard the saying “strength in numbers”? That saying applies perfectly to this situation. TIP #2: MAKE IT TAUT! When you are hanging your custom banner on a wall, you want to make sure that you pull the banner very tightly against the wall so that there is very little, if any, slack. By doing so, you reduce the amount of air that is able to get behind the banner, thus preventing a strong windstorm from pulling the banner off of its perch. After speaking with my local banner maker, I realized that when I first hung my banner I did so carelessly and thus, my banner blew away in a strong windstorm. I LOVE SOLUTIONS! And there they are, my two wonderful recommendations! These two simple tips will prevent you from having to waste your time with trial and error. I hope you get as much joy out of these solutions as I have! You can design your very own banner signage with multiple grommets, too! Just check out our website and follow the instructions to create as many banner signage as you wish! |

More Fun Than A Barrel Of Monkeys

My mother is a special person. My mother has never known a stranger. My friends feel very comfortable around my mom because she acts more like a friend than a parent. I come home sometimes to find my friends hanging out with my mom without me even knowing! My mom even throws parties for my friends on special occasions! My mom threw a wonderful birthday party for my friend Monkey. My friends love to reminisce about one party in specific that my mom threw which stands out above all the rest. The party was a surprise for my friend Michael who when we were young I nicknamed Monkey due to his amazing tree-climbing power. My mom and Monkey are really close because he’s been my friend since we were babies. For Monkey’s 10th birthday, my mom took a group of our friends to the city zoo for an afternoon of fun. Unbeknownst to myself or anyone else, my mom arranged for the zoo officials to set up a party for Monkey right outside the monkey exhibit! My mom goes all out with decorations. The zoo officials decorated the monkey exhibit with noise makers, balloons, hats and streamers! There were custom-made banners everywhere at the zoo. Before we made it to the monkey exhibit that afternoon, we noticed custom banners all over the zoo that all directed us to the primates. At first, we thought these banners were nothing more than directional banners, but as we started noticing them more and more our curiosity got the better of us and we followed the vinyl banners to the monkey exhibit. When we entered the exhibit it was like entering the pages of The Jungle Book. The zookeepers had closed the exhibit to everyone except our group, and inside there were monkeys climbing free all over everything! For decoration, there were yellow streamers stretching from the banana tree in the center of the room out across to the wall that lined the exhibit. There were also big bushels of bananas cautiously set up in different locations throughout the room, as well as empty barrels with monkeys crawling in and around them. It was an amazing sight! Look at that big empty wall over there! Once we were all in the room, my mom pointed our attention to an empty wall on the far side of the exhibit. To our surprise, a huge custom banner unraveled all of a sudden and covered up the bare wall. The custom banner said “Happy Birthday Monkey!” The custom banner was the biggest I had seen that day! The other banners I saw outside the monkey exhibit now made sense, as they matched the giant happy birthday custom banner. Monkey’s surprise 10th birthday party was one I will never forget! Monkey had a huge smile on his face. My mom made sure that he kept the custom vinyl banner with his name on it, even though it takes up a lot of space! That banana shaped vinyl banner represents everything that is great about my mom! Check out our site to create your own vinyl banners! |
