There are many ways that you can leverage the internet, including several free resources to get traffic to your website. I find that for every 100 people that view my article, about 7-8 of them will click through to my website that is linked at the bottom of each article. Google has a service where it will list the local businesses in a specific geographic area based on searches as well. For instance, if you searched for “Salt Lake City plumber”, you’ll get a list of plumbers including a map listing of where those plumbers are located in SLC. Inclusion in this directory is free if you meet the criteria. This is a great way to get a number 1 listing in Google for a regionally specific keywords. Google base is another method of generating leads and traffic to either your website or your retail store. Google base is basically like a big database of all kinds of things including products, events, and any number of other “listings”. Online classified ad websites such as Craigslist are great ways to get the word out about new products, new events, products for sale and can be a great way to list regionally specific sales as well. One strategy that works great for online classifieds is a coupon code that can be used on a website or printed out and brought into a store.
