The “Next Frontier” for astronauts and scientists might be outer space, but for businessmen, it’s the internet. Already, the World Wide Web has turned nobodies into billionaires, creating a whole new aristocracy in the world - one that could consist of anybody, regardless of race, gender, heritage, or even age. Indeed, this is the best time for people to get rich. In fact, these days are exactly like the idyllic days where the pioneers settled and explored the rich new land. Only, this time, it’s not land that will earn you money. It’s web sites. Indeed, create the perfect site and you could find yourself swimming in money. The key to it is to understand what the people like and to be able to give it with good consistency and outstanding accuracy. And to do this, you need a good web host. To determine whether a web host is good or not, you must take note of these services: Firewall Hackers - we’ve all heard about them. But the true depth of a hacker’s actions can only be felt when you are attacked by them first hand. With just one strong attack, you could see your life’s work dwindling down the drain. So, to protect yourself against these hackers, your web hosting service must have a good firewall set up. Website Back up When the hackers do get in and break into the web hosts defenses, however, they have to have some back-up plans. They can’t let down all their patrons because they couldn’t recover when they were attacked. Good web hosting services have to give daily website back up where all their customer’s files and data are stored in different back up servers to ensure that, should the need arise, they can still put everything back where it was. More than 99% Uptime Guarantee A good web host must always be trustworthy. There should be no downtimes that last for days on end. In fact, there has to be an uptime guarantee of more than 99.9%. Remember, if you are going to do business through your web page, then you can’t upset your customers by being unavailable. And your website’s availability will depend entirely on your web host. You can’t have it breaking down in the worst moments. So there must be some sort of guarantee. Peter runs the website web hosting where you can read more about this interesting subject. |

Finding the best web hosts and understanding the concept of web hosting is necessary for anyone looking to make money online. You cannot be successful with a website without web hosting. Hosting provides a home for your website so people can come and visit and hopefully buy your products and services. You can rent or purchase a location on a company’s server which will make it accessible on the internet. Why would you pay for a 50 mile plot of land on which to build your 2 bedroom cottage? Just as this sounds ridiculous, so is paying hundreds of dollars a month for hosting a small website. If your website is 1-50 pages, your fees should be pretty low as you do not require a lot of space. A simple plan will work fine for you. The problem with a “small” hosting company is the down time. Unreliable web hosting companies will often charge lower fees, yet their service is sub-par. When their server is down, your website is down. The longer they have these “downtime” issues, the less you are exposing your site to the public. The last thing you need is someone looking to find information or purchase something on your website and the site instantly goes down. This is not worth the cheap hosting fees. For large websites with approximately 100-1000 pages, more resources and space is needed. The hosting costs for a website this size may cost $100/monthly or more and it will require a reliable hosting company. If you are a successful company you will understand the need for a reliable host and will make the correct business decision. Sometimes more money is spent in the long run by not heeding the right advice at first. Shared web hosting is relatively inexpensive and common; however, it is a bit more risky. A wide range of features will be offered, yet the risk of damage is heightened. If something happens to the server as a result of another webmaster’s mistake, the entire server could be taken down and your website will be affected. Dedicated hosting offers you your own web server in which you will have complete control. You do not own the server, yet it will lower the risk of issues, for you are not subject to the mistakes of other webmasters. Though this scenario is ideal, it can be pricey. When choosing a web hosting company, look for the features you will need without getting caught up in hype and advertising. Decide if you need database server software, email, autoresponder services, and video hosting, to name a few. Also, look at the content management systems, which are beneficial in helping the non- technical user to navigate through the program with ease and control. These tips will be helpful for all internet users, new or old. GVO is one of the best web hosts on the market. Join the thousands of satisfied webmasters who are being paid to host their websites. Energy efficiency is not a new issue ” its probably always running through the back of your mind, especially now as the current economic crisis continues. Its become more and more important than ever that your server room operates with better efficiency. This is an major subject of concern for both private and public sectors, and this year is definitely no exception. If youre able to successfully improve the energy efficiency in your data center, youre going to save your organization a lot of money, and youll be cutting down on carbon emissions caused by your servers demands on the power grid. To meet the ever-increasing energy-efficiency demands, equipment producers are inventing new technologies every year and server room operators are therefore able to decrease their energy use in the their buildings. But this is not all that easy ” it takes money, and it seems like no matter what is installed, theres always room for improvement. As was said above, with the recession in full swing, the financial impact of high energy-consumption in server rooms is becoming an even more important matter for corporations. In light of this, here are five recommended practices that require very little additional expenses, but can help dramatically improve server room energy-efficiency: 1. Improve Airflow Under Raised Floor 2. Improve Under-floor Airflow 3. Install Blanking-Panels 4. Install Blanking Panels 5. Coordinate CRAC Units What else could you do? Upgrade your equipment. But that takes money, right? Most administrators arent able to come up with the additional funding for increased energy-efficiency server room cooling, airflow designs, or other equipment and hardware. So take the time to analyze the ROI (return on investment) if you were to invest in upgrades. Take a look at the big pictures. What you pay now for expensive but highly-efficient equipment is definitely going to be a smart investment in the long run. Chances are, even if you think upgrading will save your company millions, youre still going to have to convince your superiors. So youll want to calculate the ROI that will come from your various scenarios you came up with in order to justify your investment. Theyll probably lean in your favor if you can show them the costs of ownership for your scenarios and do a proper costs-benefit analysis for quite a few years time. Also recommend that you not purchase all the upgrades and new equipment at once. You should start slowly. Start your new approach towards an energy-efficient server room by phasing in your new equipment and hardware as part of the companys natural evolution and expansion. About the Author:

Web hosting is a service that allows individuals and businesses to purchase or rent a space on a server and then host their website on that allocated space. Every person and business will have different hosting needs, however, finding the very best web hosting provider is a crucial step in ensuring that you have a quality website that can be accessed by your visitors. It doesn’t matter if you are running a blog, a wiki, or a full on ecommerce website. Reliable web hosting is a necessity. A company that hosts websites maintains the site on a computer that can be accessed through the Internet. These companies may host thousands of websites on many different servers in a building called a data center. These data centers let the hosting company maintain the security and cool temperatures around their valuable computers. Think of web hosting as renting space online. This is where you are going to build your home or your store, so you want to make sure it is in a neighborhood that is safe, secure, and is well tended by the groundskeepers. You’ll also want a good, trustworthy landlord that lives up to the contract. There are many different types of hosting solutions out there today. Each one is appropriate for different circumstances. Some of the options that are available to you are free hosting, shared hosting, dedicated hosting, and co-location hosting. Each of the options just listed will allow you to get a website on the internet, but not every option will meet your individuals wants and needs. If you are planning on launching a very small website or blog, free web hosting just might be the best way to go. The reason the hosting is free is because the hosting companies make money from displaying ads on your website. If that is not for you, shared hosting is a very affordable way to host your website. This is where you will share your server with other people. You will have much less disk space and bandwidth. This is a great choice for smaller websites. If you are a large company, or are planning on operating a huge website, you will want a dedicated server. These are for sites that expect high traffic and have lots of visitors. Large and fast growing internet businesses are perfect candidates for dedicated hosting. You might also choose to go with co-location. This is where you purchase your own server and house it with a company who will keep it safe and secure. So the million dollar question is, what do you look for when trying to choose a great hosting provider? There are some standards that you should hold web hosting companies to. Doing so will definitely help you choose the best provider. You should always begin by taking a look at the service record of the company. How reliable are they? Do they have a good uptime record? How is their customer support? Each of these things will help you know if you are selecting a good hosting provider. By doing your research, you can save a lot of money and get tremendous value! The Internet has been around for quite a while but very few of us have been online for more than just a few years. I got my first start about 13 years ago on the Internet, a literal eternity as far as Internet age is concerned. It was at that time that I decided to start a business online and although things were different then, they were also similar in many ways. At that particular time, there was only one place that you were able to buy a domain name and that was through networksolutions.com. A domain cost about $35, but now they are available in multiple places and many times you can get them for well under $10 each. I purchased the domain name without really knowing what to do with it and I needed to take a crash course on Web hosting. It was amazing how an enhanced my life. One of the first things that I did was to look at many of the shared hosting companies that were available at that time. In those days, a shared host cost anywhere from $20 per month and up. It is possible for you to get a shared host at well under five dollars a month nowadays, but again, those options were not available to me at the time. By having a shared host, you will have a small piece of a private server that you will share with anywhere from several hundred to a thousand or more other websites. That is how they are able to keep the cost low for these services. There came a time whenever I ended up outgrowing the shared server and I needed to move into a larger, more robust system. It was at this time that I began looking at a virtual Private server, or VPS. This type of the server was on a more robust computer, and it did not have as many individuals that were sharing it at any given time. Because it was only split about eight different ways, I had access to more of the server resources for myself. As my business continued to grow, I started to purchase additional server space at various locations. At times, I would start a new website on a shared server and host it there until I got enough traffic that it could support itself on a virtual Private server. I also started hosting multiple domain names on the same server, even though I made sure each one had its own individual IP address. A dedicated server was the next logical step and it wasn’t long before I had my own box with my hosting company. I’ve moved multiple websites to this dedicated server as it allowed me to have all of the resources totally dedicated to my own business. It took a little bit of a learning curve in order for me to get started with hosting in this way, but it has enhanced my business in far too many ways for me to describe it. Take a little bit of time to learn about hosting and look at the various hosts that are available. The time that it takes you will be well spent. About the Author:

What Every Web Owner Needs to Understand about Hosting

Optimize Search Engine Results | How to Optimize Search Engine Results | Optimize Search Engine Results |
|
If you own websites or if you design them, one of the things that you need to understand is exactly how a web hosting platform operates. Understanding the basics of web hosting can help you grow your business in a number of different ways that you might not even be familiar with. Although it may seem like simplistic information, ignoring it can be detrimental to your overall business plans. It can be quite overwhelming whenever you first start looking at the hosting accounts that are available, especially because there are thousands of them to choose from. Although there are a number of different companies for you to look at, there are really only a handful of different types of hosting accounts for you to inspect. Shared hosting is one type but there is also virtual Private servers as well as dedicated servers. Understanding the difference between these three can help your business to grow at a steady rate. A shared server is the most common type and most individuals and businesses get started on this type of hosting platform. Your website will exist on a server at the hosting company but you’re going to share it with other websites at the same time. Nobody will have access to your little corner of the server except for you. The problem with this type of the server is that you often have to share it with up to a thousand other websites. Hosting companies rarely ever let you know how many other websites are on one of their servers. The difficult part about this is the fact that any one of those websites could be running scripts or run into other difficulties that would grind the entire server to a halt. Although it is rare that this happens with a reliable shared server company, there are times when ever it rears its ugly head. A virtual Private server, or VPS, is basically the same thing as a shared hosting account but the main difference is that you will be sharing it with far fewer other webmasters. In the case of a shared server, you might be splitting it with thousands of websites but with a virtual Private server, you will only be splitting it with about half a dozen other people. This gives you a larger chunk of resources and your websites will typically run smoother and faster as a result. If your business continues to grow and the resources that you are using grow along with it, you will eventually need to get a dedicated server for yourself. Moving on to a dedicated server can be a little bit difficult, especially if you are not technical minded. The thing that you need to keep in mind, however, is that a dedicated server is not all that different from any other type of server. The main difference is the fact that you will have all of the resources for yourself and your websites will run better as a result. One of the interesting things about the virtual private servers and dedicated servers is the fact that you are able to upgrade various components that exist on the server. For example, you can pay additional money every month for a larger physical disk or for additional memory and bandwidth. This allows you to grow, even within a hosting platform that is at its upper limit. If you’re just starting out, more than likely you’re going to be starting with the shared hosting account and moving up from there. It’s an excellent way for you to be able to get your feet wet but don’t overlook the possibility of moving up once your business grows. About the Author:

If you have been waiting to put your business or personal website on the Internet, there’s no doubt that you’re excited about the prospect of doing so. The one thing that all of us need whenever it is time to bring our website on to the Internet, however, is a hosting provider that will be able to show the site off to the world. Although you have hundreds of different choices as far as hosting is concerned, shared hosting is by far the most popular. Shared hosting has several things that are going for it. The first, and most important for many people is the fact that it is a lot less expensive than some of the more robust types of hosting services. As a matter of fact, it is possible for you to get reliable web hosting that gives you a multitude of options for well under five dollars a month. You might have to pay several months in advance, but it is a considerable savings. Getting started on the Internet is the most important part about bringing your business or personal website online. That may seem rather simplistic, but it is true. You need to look at the features that are available in the shared hosting account, however, and make sure that you understand what it is that you are getting. Understanding these features that are available on a shared hosting account will enable you to be able to move up easily into a more robust account when your business grows to that point. Because of all of the options that are available to you whenever you’re looking at the shared hosting accounts, you can easily get overwhelmed and find yourself giving up for a little while. That is the reason why it is important for you not to stop whenever you’re simply looking at the price of a hosting account, there are some important decisions to be made. One of the most important decisions is the control panel that is going to run your entire hosting account. Some of the most popular control panels include Plesk and cPanel, but there are a variety of them that are available. Make sure that the one you choose is relatively easy to find on other servers as it will make your next move an easy one. Even after looking at these very basic parts of the shared hosting account, some of us have a difficult time coming to a decision as to which one we are going to use. The next logical step that you should take is to look at the review websites in order to get user feedback from people who are actually on the servers every day. They will be quick to let you know whether they enjoyed using the service or if they think it should be something that is left alone. Above all, you simply need to put your best foot forward and get started. Your website is going to do absolutely nothing for you whenever that is sitting on your computer and nobody is able to see it. Look at the various hosting accounts that are available and choose one, it is the only way that you are ever going to learn. About the Author:
