You should be willing to spend time to do your due diligence and make sure that the domain you are interested in is actually worth the amount of money that is being charged for it. One important factor to look at is to see that both the page rank and number of backlinks are genuine. There are unfortunately people who will try to trick you into thinking a site gets more traffic than it actually does. People have been known to fake things like traffic stats so that they can increase the price of the domain beyond it’s actual value. If you know what you are doing and are willing to invest the time to adequately research any given site to make sure it’s still profitable, than buying expired domains can be an amazing way to get a turnkey site up and running (and making money) for you.
